Skimmer Alternatives for Pool Service Companies: What to Compare Before You Switch
Skimmer is the best-known software in pool service, and for many companies it works well. But if you're searching for Skimmer alternatives, you probably have a specific reason: the per-pool bill grows as your route grows, you want a different billing setup, or you're a one-truck operation that wants something simpler.
This guide compares the realistic options, what to check before you move, and who each one fits. We make Easy Pool CRM, so we're listed too. We've tried to treat it like the others, including where it falls short. Every price and feature below comes from the vendor's own page or a source linked at the end, and prices were checked on October 1, 2026. Confirm current rates before you buy.
What to compare in any pool service software
Decide what matters most for your route:
- Pricing model. Per-pool, per-technician, per-user, or flat monthly. Each one gets expensive in a different way as you grow.
- Data export and import. Can you leave with your customers and service history, and can the new tool take them in?
- Payments and accounting. Is there QuickBooks sync, Stripe, or built-in processing? What are the card fees?
- Mobile and Android. Techs use this in the field, so check the actual app for your phones.
- Routing. Is it a map with stops, or real optimization?
- Pool-specific tools. Chemistry logging, service reports, equipment tracking.
- Support. Phone, chat, or email, and when.
Skimmer: the benchmark
Pricing (Skimmer's pricing page, accessed October 1, 2026): Skimmer charges per serviced location. Getting Started is $1.00 per location per month, starting at $49 and including 49 locations. Scaling Up is $2.00 per location per month, starting at $98 and including 49 locations. Enterprise (over 1,000 pools) is custom. Skimmer is currently advertising a free first month of Scaling Up and a 30-day money-back guarantee. Add-ons cost extra, such as AI Phone ($99/month), a Marketing Suite ($150/month), and Service Texts on Getting Started ($0.029 per message).
Strengths: Unlimited technicians and customers on every plan, a route builder, invoicing, a customer portal, and on Scaling Up, quotes, an LSI and dosing calculator, route optimization, and live phone support. It has an Android app on Google Play. Its QuickBooks Online integration is one-way (Skimmer to QuickBooks), according to Skimmer's help center.
Trade-offs: Price scales with locations: 100 locations on Scaling Up is about $200 a month ($98 + 51 × $2). Route optimization and quotes are on the higher tier only.
Best for: Companies that want the most established pool-specific platform and are fine with per-location pricing.
Jobber: a general field-service tool
Jobber isn't pool-specific, and its pricing page lists no chemistry logging. It is a mature scheduling, quoting and invoicing tool for home-service businesses, with iOS and Android apps and routing among its features. Plans run from Core at $29/month to Plus at $499/month and up (annual billing lowers these, and the price depends on team size). Extra users cost $29/month each. QuickBooks Online sync is listed from the Connect plan upward, and card payments are 2.9% + 30¢. The trial is 14 days with no card.
Best for: Pool companies that also do other trades, or owners who care more about quoting and scheduling than water chemistry. If you log readings on every stop, you'll probably need a workaround.
Pool360 PoolService: for POOLCORP customers
PoolService is made by POOLCORP. Trade press describes routing, scheduling, mobile water testing, billing and reporting, plus integration with POOL360 ordering. It was reported at $1 per pool serviced per month. An independent review site lists pricing as "on request" and notes that some details, such as a customer portal, weren't verified, so confirm with the vendor. Skimmer's own blog criticizes the app, but that is a competitor's opinion, so judge it in a demo.
Best for: Companies that already buy supplies through POOL360 and want ordering tied into quotes.
PayThePoolMan: per-technician pricing
PayThePoolMan charges $50 a month plus $15 per technician, with no per-pool charge and no contract, according to its site (pricing as checked by the vendor on September 14, 2026). It lists invoicing with QuickBooks sync, route optimization, GPS tracking, bids, a financial ledger, and a branded customer app, Pool Junction, as a $25/month add-on. Payroll is also an add-on, and so are text credits. Support is weekdays, 8am to 4pm Eastern. It offers a 30-day trial.
Best for: Owner-operators and small crews who want deep billing and bidding features, and where the tech count stays low relative to pools.
Pooli: check who it's built for
Pooli comes up in searches, but its site is aimed at pool owners: test-strip scanning, dosing advice, and home inventory tracking. We found no route, invoicing or customer-management tools for service companies, so we wouldn't treat it as a Skimmer replacement. It may still be useful for homeowners you serve.
Easy Pool CRM: flat plans with caps on the small tiers
Easy Pool CRM charges flat monthly prices with no per-pool fees:
| Plan | Price/month | Users | Customers & pools | Route stops/month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $30 | 1 | Up to 40 | Up to 180 |
| Pro | $59 | 2 | Up to 80 | Up to 360 |
| Team | $99 | 5 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Growth | $199 | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Every plan includes route management, chemistry logging, estimates and invoicing, online payments, a customer portal, service reports and reminders, a dashboard, Stripe, data export and texting. It works on mobile. Card processing fees apply. Annual billing is available at a discount.
Where it fits: A flat $99 Team plan covers a small crew with no pool cap. Compared with Skimmer Scaling Up, that is roughly $101 less per month at 100 pools. That comparison uses Scaling Up, which is the tier with route optimization, quotes and the dosing calculator. Against Skimmer's cheaper Getting Started tier, which Skimmer positions for up to 49 pools, the gap is much smaller. The honest limits: Starter and Pro have caps (40 and 80 customers and pools), so a growing route will move up quickly. Our site doesn't list a QuickBooks integration or a dedicated Android app, so if either is a must, ask us first.
Trial and switching: The trial is 60 days. A card is required and billing starts on day 61. We import routes from Skimmer, or any platform, for free using a CSV.

How to switch without losing a week
- Export first. Skimmer's export covers customer and service-history spreadsheets, according to a competitor's migration guide. Service photos and payment records may need separate downloads.
- Expect to re-collect card details. Pool pros in a r/PoolPros thread say stored cards and bank details didn't transfer. Plan a staged customer message.
- Run both for one route week before you cancel.
- Rebuild service days and tech assignments if they don't import.
FAQ
Is flat pricing cheaper than per-pool pricing? Usually when your pool count is high, and not always when it's low. A per-location plan can cost less than a flat plan on a small route. Run your own numbers at your real pool count and the features you need.
Can I export my data from Skimmer? Skimmer has a settings export for customers and service history, according to third-party guides. Check what's included before you cancel, and export while your account is active.
Will my customers' saved cards move over? Pool pros report they usually don't. Assume you'll re-collect payment methods.
Is Jobber good for pool companies? Jobber covers scheduling, quoting and invoicing, but its pricing page lists no pool chemistry tools. It suits mixed-trade businesses better than pool-only routes.
